Membership of the Guild
Membership of the Guild of St. Peter ad Vincula is open to all Roman Catholics who seek to pray and fight for the restoration of the hierarchy of their Church. As yet, we offer no suggestions, beyond prayer, as to how this may be accomplished, and indeed are resigned to the will of Almighty God in this respect. However, if it is given to us not only to resist the changes, but even to actively struggle against them in ways as yet not conceived, then the Guild is ready to follow the promptings of Divine Providence in order to give glory to God and to save the souls of as many of His children as He will permit.
Fundamental Aims
- Kingship of Christ
Our particular devotion is to Christ the King in the simplicity of his Divine Infancy, and thus we choose the Infant of Prague as our guide and inspiration. - Preservation of the Faith
The guardianship of the Faith was given by Our Lord to St. Peter upon whom he founded his Church. For this reason, we choose St. Peter as our patron. - Restoration of the Catholic Hierarchy
We are ready to pray and to fight to the death for the restoration of the Catholic Papacy and the Divine Authority that would be thus re-enabled to shed its light and wisdom upon mankind. As this Authority is currently prevented from shining forth by the apostasy of its Magisterium, we choose the title of "St. Peter in Chains" as our particular device.
Initial Methods
- Individual Members
To provide for the spiritual needs of our members.
Once you join the Guild, we will try to provide the Sacraments for you on as regular a basis as we can. As we are very few, however, it may take several years before we are successful in reaching everyone. - Mass Centers
To establish centers where the Mass and Sacraments may be brought to our members and other faithful.
It is anticipated that this could be done by creating a circuit of Mass centers that would be served on a regular basis by a visiting priest. - Prayer Chain
To encourage daily prayers amongst the faithful
Requirements for Membership
- Submission to the
Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
We refer our members to the doctrinal and moral teachings of Popes and Councils up to and including Pope Pius XII. - Daily Recitation of the
Prayer for the Restoration of the Hierarchy
This short prayer is provided on the homepage of this website and should be recited every day by the individual member. - Monthly Votive Mass for the Election of a
Sovereign Pontiff
In addition to the two requirements listed above for the laity, priest members are asked to offer a Votive Mass once a month for this intention. Lay members are to make every effort to attend this Mass according to their means and ability. - Litanies and Preces
Priest members are also asked to encourage the recitation of the Litanies and Preces as published on this website. These prayers are to be recited publicly at least once yearly on the Feast of St. Peter ad Vincula (August 1st). Lay members who are unable to attend the public recitation are to recite the Litanies and Preces in private on this same patronal feastday.
